A note about DIY
It's completely understandable that you want to save money on your wedding, but it's important to consider all the factors before deciding to go the DIY route. While it may seem like a great idea in theory, there are many moving parts involved in planning and executing a wedding, and it's easy to underestimate the amount of work and stress involved.
One of the biggest issues with a DIY wedding is that it can be difficult to enjoy your own big day. Instead of being able to relax and soak in the experience, you'll likely be worrying about all the details and logistics that need to be taken care of. Additionally, any friends or family members who are helping you with the planning and decor may not have a good time either, as they'll be under a lot of pressure to make everything perfect.
Furthermore, as you've pointed out, you aren't a professional, and there are many aspects of a wedding that require a high level of skill and expertise. If something goes wrong, it can be very difficult to fix, and you could end up with a big mess on your hands. Plus, if you don't have experience with event planning or decorating, you may end up overspending or making mistakes that end up costing you more money in the long run.
Finally, it's worth noting that many couples who try to DIY their own wedding end up regretting it. Studies have shown that DIY weddings are often more stressful and less enjoyable than those that are professionally planned and executed. While it's certainly possible to have a successful DIY wedding, it's important to be realistic about what you're capable of accomplishing and to carefully weigh the pros and cons before making a decision.
